"The visits of European Council representatives to Ukraine testifies that contacts with European Council office give the possibility for the new initiative and its realization in Ukraine. Despite the fact that one may observe ion the surfaced only the work of our parliamentary delegation, actually this cooperation is of course more divergent",- the First Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine , Oleksandr Lavrynovych during the meeting with EC delegation headed by the Leader of Strategic Planning and Democracy Department of European Council Jan Lui Loran.
According to the First Vice-Chairman, "the fact that EC holds a lot of essential activities in Ukraine facilitate the dipping of the Ukrainian political system into those legal problems that exist in our country and prepare us for the scrutiny of the possible ways of European integration".
In the framework of the negotiation, the Parties have discussed the wide circle cooperation issues in particular, cooperation of our country with alliance in the framework of the Plan of actions named "Plan of Actions of European Council regarding Ukraine for the Years 2008-2011" according to which Ukraine is obliged to compile its duties before EC, strengthen the cooperation between European institutions and also the plan is called to facilitate the adjusting of national system of laws in correspondence with European standards.
At the request of European Council, O. Lavrynovych explained these norms regarding which there is polemics in the society: participation in the elections campaign of the public organizations in the role of observers, procedure and terms of court appellations, formation logic of the election committees, and specification of the election tickets.
Giving comments regarding the finance provision of the election campaign, the First Vice-Chairman declared that it is supposed by the current year State Budget.Moreover during the conversation the issues on the Ukrainian duties that are to be adjusted to the European Council norms were touched upon. Council representatives stressed that between our country and this influential international organization partner dialogue had gained stable and consequent features. They expressed hope regarding the continuance of the effective and successful cooperation with Ukraine and informed on the preparation of the European Council Forum "For the Democracy Future" and "Election System: Strengthening of Democracy in XXI century", that are to be held in Kyiv on 21-23 October.
